Infinity Ward & Sledgehammer Games introduced something called “Call of Duty Elite” when Modern Warfare 3 was released last year.
For a one off fee of £50, anyone who purchased Elite would get early access to new maps and some custom titles/emblems. I opted out as I don’t mind waiting 24 hours for a map pack didn’t like the concept of paying for a few images.
In reality, my decision not to get Elite was a bit of a pain, although more so for the guys I play with. Being a nice set of lads they opted to miss out on clan battles or new map packs if I happened to be online.
Thankfully, Treyarch have made the decision to include a Call of Duty Elite membership with every copy of Black Ops 2. This includes full support for clans and, for the first time ever, Zombies game modes.
