Last week I posted up some Black Ops 2: sniper gameplay and asked the question – is quickscoping back? Now I’ve had some time to think about it, I think the answer is yes (sort of).
As it stands, sniping in Black Ops 2 looks like a cross between COD 4 and MW2 which should keep the community fairly happy. Early footage suggests the DSR-50 will be the weapon of choice for (most) aggressive snipers. Personally, I’m hoping there is a bolt action equivalent but it seems unlikely given these are supposedly weapons of the future!
In the following video, the player is using a ‘wildcard’ to use three attachments with his DSR-50: the ballistic cpu, laser sight and dual band, which reduce idle sway, improve hip-fire accuracy and provide the thermal-like scope. The combination seems to make the DSR-50 pretty beastly, so it will be interesting to see what sacrifices are required. That said….
The create a class menu shows the DSR-50 is coupled with a crossbow secondary, with the tri-bolt attachment. Perks are Hardline, Cold Blooded and Tactical Mask. However, it appears there are no lethal or tactical grenades, or kill-streaks which could be a trade-off for using the wildcard. What do you think?
