In our last post we took a look at the Ear Force Tango: a limited edition gaming headset from Turtle Beach. This time we turn our attention to the slightly cheaper Ear Force Sierra.
Like the Tango, the Sierra has been designed in conjunction with Treyarch and comes with in-built pre-sets to enhance certain game sounds, such as footsteps and gunfire.
We’re trying to get our hands on a set so we can give you some feedback on how well the headset deals with the sound in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. As reported by our resident YouTuber, iKingOfHouse, sound whoring is “almost impossible” unless you crank up the game volume to uncomfortable levels. He believes that serious players should consider looking at headsets which accentuate those noises which give away the position of your opponent(s).
For now, we will leave you with this video review by Jester548, which covers the key features of the Ear Force Sierras.
Essentially, these are identical to the Ear Force Tango except they are a wired headset and lack the “dual bluetooth” option.
