Black Ops 2 – be prepared – BLOPS RTC EP 61

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is available from midnight on Tuesday 13th November, 2012.  What better way to get ready for the game than a little Road to Commander series from the original Black Ops?

Black Ops RTC Episode 61: The End

As I mentioned in Episode 60, I decided to kill the series so I didn’t have to spam my subscribers with videos on the final weekend before Black Ops 2 was released.

I decided to hop on and record a final game to end the RTC, which went pretty well. Playing with Sendzik and one of my subs we busted out over 200 kills in a game of CTF on Firing Range. However, for some reason the game chat didn’t record which is a real shame as it was a good one!

Oh well, perhaps I’ll do an RTC in Black Ops 2 or…. dare I say it… Modern Warfare 4?!

What is an RTC?

A Black Ops RTC, or Road To Commander, is a video series in which every game from level zero to level fifty is posted. For my own RTC, games will be posted with a mixture of commentaries, live commentaries and live team communication.

How I record Black Ops gameplay

Black Ops has a built in Theatre Mode but unfortunately it only allows you to upload clips up to 30 seconds in length. If you want to start recording full length Black Ops videos you’re going to need a capture card.

There are loads of capture cards out there but I went for the AVerMedia Game Capture HD because it has built in storage, which means there’s no need to hook up my PS3 to a computer when I play.  To see how it works, check out this review by JSHD.

My set-up for recording commentaries and live team communication is pretty simple. I just plug the USB portion of my headset into a laptop and choose an appropriate recorder.
